I build a smug at night for the
horses. Burn up dried manure and moldy straw/hay
Make sure you fence it off. Horses
will roll or stand in a smug and get hurt real bad
For riding you can get bug armor for
the horse and for you go to a sporting goods store and buy a jacket. My hubby
has one for fishing.
I like the cashel visor with the face
screen. I used one in Idaho with the knats.

There was a great bug repellent
recipe I found on ridecamp years ago when the skitos were so bad I had to
wear a bandana to feed so I would not swallow them.
I will try to find it in my files and
post it. Had pinesol, hair conditioner, citronella anyone remember
it???
