I also got a hematoma on my butt from a fall from a horse.  Mine was
also very large.  Doctor said give it six weeks and it will be absorbed.
Didn't happen so I had it drained a total of three times over several
months.  Each time LOTS of fluid was removed.  Finally after the third
time it was almost gone and now 5 years later there is nothing there.
If one of my horses had one I would have it drained.  Mine was very
uncomfortable.
