Re: [RC] Ouch (Tight Rear Muscles) - Tiffany D'VirgilioHere is SoCal, both horses get an all over hose wash after every ride in the hot months. Never had a problem. When it is 100, and your horse is miserable with sweat everywhere, they think that water is a welcome cool off. I untack, pick feet, wash under first and up and over everything after that.Tiffany On Jun 5, 2005, at 6:54 PM, Truman Prevatt wrote: There were a lot of studies done leading up to the Olympics in Atlanta in '96 as to how best to cool horses in hot conditions. The conclusion was in hot weather - cold water, even over the big muscle groups - was indicated and would not lead to cramping. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
