Borium-tipped shoes are VERY slippery on rock. Lud rode Grey on Tevis one 
year with borium-tipped shoes and poor Grey slipped several times and nicked 
his knees.  We have a photo of the two of them with blood trickling down 
Grey's knees.  I think I'll pass on trying your trail.  That one would 
REALLY terrify me.
