Re: [RC] [AERCMembersForum] Re: 100 mile rides - heidiOkay, I've ridden Fort Howes when it was a dual sanctioned (AERC/FEI) ride. It was still a hundred miles of sheer pleasure and delight. The vet checks were a bit different, but, being an endurance rider, adaptation ain't so hard. What I'd really like to know is, does the AERC have a Steward at the dual-sanctioned rides? If so, great. If not, WHY NOT? Frank, I don't think that subject has ever come up--but it is certainly one worth thinking about. And if AERC had a steward or some kind of a rep there, it might really help to alleviate the fears of folks like Jim and Karen. (Who, from the sounds of it, likely ran into problems with overzealous individuals or problems specific to particular rides, since those problems don't seem to be representative of the experiences that many others have had at dual-sanctioned events--but then those are the sorts of problems that stewards could help to overcome.)
