RE: [RC] HRM's and Increasing Intensity - heidi

Is this an exception?  I was always under the impression that the HR
will be elevated or it will spike abnormally if a horse is in pain.

Often the injury is done before there is much pain--it can take several
hours or longer before there is enough pain to bother the HR.

And some horses are very stoic, and just aren't "stressed" that much by
the pain, so don't show much of a rise at all.  I've ridden a couple like
that...
