Re: [RC] did AHA give in or did they have no choice - heidiYes, heidi, and this is the critical point that is such an outrage - there have been horses in the past whose blood was in question. These horses are not in question - they are NOT pure - they are PARTBREDS. But then the the current market system for Arabians seem to take pleasure in promoting partbreds at the expense of purebreds, unlike other purebred organizations. It makes me now TRULY think about whether I want to continue to bred PB Arabians, and I most CERTAINLY will never engage in the costlier ends of the AHA programs - Sweeps for starters which I have always felt was a vast money pit for all but a handful of halter or EP horses. How pathetic it all is. You're right that it has been the promotional arm of the breed that has been amiss here--and it has been for quite some time. I was saddened to see the merger happen--it was AHR that stood up to WAHO, and IAHA fought them at the time, because that was where all the show folks were who wanted to trade in these horses. I figured after the merger that this would become inevitable--along with many other problems with IAHA that are now a part of the overall organization.
