[RC] re: vertigo, motion sickness in the dark - Cindy CollinsI can't believe no one has mentioned being stuck with me when I throw up on a 100 miler! Guys, some of us just get motion sick in the dark and there are things that help, but no cure. Being in shape and hydrated are a plus. Chewing ginger candy does seem to help. Dramamine makes me sicker and sleepy...same with patches. Bracelets do nothing. I've finished 19 100 milers. On four of those I didn't vomit. Two of them because I finished in daylight, one because it was not downhill at all(downhill in the dark is the worst), and one I was miserably nauseated, but for some reason did not vomit. I have given up eating the great hamburgers at Jack Creek on the BigHorn 100 because it's a waste of time...if you know what I mean. I've just learned to live with the fact that this is what I will do and all of my friends just expect it. BTW, the horses don't seem to care! Kind of like a dog, they love you anyway.
