Re: [RC] giving injections and trouble - Katrina O'NealI'm always mystified at what works for some people and what DOESN'T for other <g>! For years I've given shots (literally hundreds) in the neck with very few problems. But I was scared by the WNV reactions being reported, so I decided to try the pectoral (chest) muscles that so many people liked. Now, I'm a nurse, so I (sort of) know how to give a shot...but 6 out of 6 developed big old lumps that took over a week to resolve. Several of the horses struck out with their front feet as I stuck them as well....So we're back to the neck... But it's always good to hear new things and try them. When it comes to horses, you can't have too many things in your "bag of tricks."
