  After many years of giving shots in the butt only,I yielded to all the 
instruction books and gave one in the neck,despite misgivings.Result: neck 
swolen and hard as a rock,horse in great discomfort,and a few days of 
vet-prescribed Bute.Since then,it has been butt-only for us!
