[RC] Tire Pressure & Weight - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Sharon Hahn sharon.hahn@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== The amount on the tire is the MAX pressure. You wouldn't want tires at max pressure under load, because (1) your handling would be more swervy as your truck responds more rapidly, and (2) as your tires heated up, they could go above max pressure and blow. The recommended tire pressure is usually on a sticker inside your truck door, but this differs depending on what tires you get and also the fact that you are towing might require an adjustment from the normal driving recommendation (but not to max pressure). I would ask a truck dealer experienced with towing or a trailer dealer if your truck owner's manual doesn't help. __________ I am going to apologize at the start but I really need to know this question. I just bought 4 new tires for my truck. I told the tire people exactly what I was hauling and how much the trailer weighed. They put the tires on and told me these would be more than I would need. If my tires say 50psi, when I am hauling my gooseneck should it be filled to 50psi or should it be less? Also, the tires say 1850 weight limit, is that x 4 for four tires which would mean 7400? Thanks for your help =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
