[RC] Easyboots pressing coronary band - Linda DeweesI have also have the problem of the easyboots being too high and causing pain on the coronary band, even after I trim the top edge down as far as possible (leaving enough for protection from the cables in front.) I wish they made them shorter. My horses are barefoot and my gelding wears a size 1 and my POA mare wears a size 0. I just use them on their front feet, so far. I was about to have my husband get me some 1/4 - 3/8 inch thick noncompressable rubber, or something, to make lifts, when I saw some ready-made ones for sale in the Sportack catalog! I bought some size 0, but they're only about 1/8 inch thick which wasn't enough. I tried them in the gelding's boots and it worked for him, even though they were loose in his size 1's.The lifts stay in the easyboots fine, but they were cut a little undersized front to back and I worried they would slide back and not provide support under the tip of the toe. I don't think they did, but if I make my own I'll make them a little longer. I can't wait to try Epics, but I feel like I have to wait for my old Easyboots to wear out first, and that will take a while. darn it. I better ride more.
