Re: [RC] registration - rides2farI have to differ with you here. I've seen and heard of just as many horses with incredible papers going to the killers once they are past their prime. That's why I have my senior citizen pasture :-) I've seen some "incredible papers" continue to make their rounds long after the original horse was dead of old age. Bought a little Walking Horse for a lady once. The people gave me "his papers" which said he was an own son of some big named horse "Rising Sun maybe, I forget??" Funny thing was, if they'd been his papers he would have been about 45, instead of the 15 or so that he was. I pointed out to the sellers that there was no way that those were his, but you could tell that mentally...to them...that was him and they didn't want to separate him from the papers. So I took them. Gave them to my uncle for a souvenir. He couldn't afford one of that stallion 's get back when it was alive. He was tickled to death to own the papers. I've often thought that many Arab breeders enjoyed the papers more than the horses and someone should combine the idea of baseball trading cards and trading horse papers. That would let them have a hobby that covered their favorite parts of horse ownership and didn't involve all the feeding and shoveling. >g< Angie =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
