I suspect that is your best course of action... To answer some questions: The grass is not JUST FRESHLY cut and looks bruised. Came from a lawnmower. I don't know how many other horses he is feeding it to. The one's closest to me are all eating alfalfa. Fermentation has been mentioned in this thread, but what has NOT been mentioned is impaction. Closely cut clippings such as those put out by a lawn mower can be wolfed down with minimal chewing and can impact further down the GI tract. I lost a beautiful TB mare when I was in high school from an impacted cecum just stuffed with fine lawn clippings. Yep, the kindly neighbor "shared" them over the fence, fresh from the lawn....
