I'm sorry, that message came out exactly backwards from my intention.  I intended to say:

 

"Not providing papers when selling a gelding makes almost no sense unless you are very embarrassed with the results of your breeding"

 

A breed is improved when the performance records of close relatives to the breeding individuals are kept.
