[RC] Stallions/Stud Fees - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Jennifer Jlwarabs@xxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== As an endurance stallion owner I just wanted to add my opinion to the mix of the conversation that has been going on. First off I agree that too many stallions of quality are priced out of the endurance market, and I also agree that many of those high priced stallions aren't what you want to breed too for an endurance/sport horse foal either. That said- there are plenty of stallions out there with a good record, good conformation, temperament etc... that are still relatively unknown- simply because they are not heavily marketed. Marketing costs Big $$$, and many of us simply can't offord it. It's the same problem we have selling horses, its hard to get a decent price for quality horses too much of the time. I stand my endurance stallion for $800, with discounts available for proven mares, those with proven foals, multiple mares, repeat breeders etc.... I can't price my stud fee to low or I will end up with too many folks with messed up mares wanting to breed to my stallion and ruining his good name, that's why I offer discounts to quality instead. So to advertise a little- if anyone is interested - you can check out my stallion- Summer Saga- at www.mysticrosearabians.com He is 15 h., with 8" cannons, all of his competition has been in the Heavyweight Division. At home relaxed I've found his HR on a monitor to be as low as 18 bpm. He is also very sane and good minded- he has manners. I even use him as a lesson horse for my Jr riders on occassion. Bloodline wise - he is 36% Crabbett and qualifies as Egyptian bred - old Egyptian- not the Hot halter lines. So if anyone is looking for a stallion, we are outside Memphis TN, and I'd be happy to talk to you about breeding! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
