[RC] Allergy to Dixie Midnight? - k s swigart

Is it possible my horse is allergic to the material the pad is made
from?
Has anyone else had this problem?

Not little bumps/hives, no, but scald and hair loss. It took the second
time I used it for this to happen, and it took a couple of days to show
up. This on a horse that has the same problem with neoprene (which also
took the second time I used a neoprene girth on her and a couple of days
to show up).

I have gone back to wool pad and mohair girths and the problem has gone
away.

The good news is, most horses don't react in this way and the pads work
for lots of people, so if you want to find it a new home you won't have
any problem getting somebody to buy it from you. Also, the pad comes
with a "satisfaction guarantee" so you can probably send it back and get
your money back.
