Registering cloned animals is done in cattle associations.  So, if a horse 
registry wanted to accept clones, it has been done in other species.

Apparently, cloning cattle has been quietly going on for some time and the 
clones are accecpted by some of the cattle associations.

Here is an interesting article about this from 2002.  It briefly mentions 
this issue.  Also, at the bottom of the article, it lists some of the cattle 
cloned -  a couple of the bulls have 5 clones!
