If you think there is a threat of infection in the hole in the foot, call the vet and have the donkey tranquilized so that the wound can be properly cleaned. If you don't know whether there is a threat of infection, and you can't get the donkey to stand still to have it looked at to figure it out, call the vet so you can have him tranqulized.
