RE: [RC] riding shoes - ColleenSupersat2HI, I looked at those Ariat boots and they look great. I ride in Ariat too but not that style. My feet, knees and shins feet would throb the pain was so bad I was beginning to think I could not ride longer than an hour. We had a friend Bob Foster who's wife was an endurance rider (Dorothy) and he claimed he had remedied Dorothy's foot and knee problems and suggested I try his stirrups. So I did and he was right. They have lasted 14 years came with this crazy toe basket that I don't want to ride with out but they come with out them too. Bob explained that the Nylon allows the stirrups to flex with your weight which eliminated the pressure on your feet, knees etc. While attending the AERC convention last month Bob came in our booth I asked if he had anymore stirrups to sell so he sent about 10 pair...if you are interested I can email you a photo of them and you can send me $50.00 plus 8.00 for shipping. Try them, you'll know on your first ride if they work for you and if you don't like them you can send them back. You'll need to pay for the shipping both ways. Colleen Subject: [RC] riding shoes I thought I had solved my riding shoe problems when I purchased my Ariat Terrains, but I am having real problems with the side of my right foot. Last week on my normal training ride, the outside of my right foot was hurting so badly, that I had to keep walking & taking my foot out of the stirrup. I have purchased some new stirrups with the safety cage, so I can use tennies. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
