Re: [RC] [RC-Digest] Vol: 03.2525 American Flex - Chipnml

I tried an American-Flex Versatil a little over a year ago, and wasn't too happy with it.  I have a hard-to-fit horse who is short-backed and high-crouped, and I thought this would help.  I ordered it in April and didn't get it until September.  I only had three times to try it before doing a very hilly 50 mile ride.  He was fine at the halfway point, but by the end of the ride he was VERY sore over the loin area.  Roberta Harms, who uses Ortho-flex, advised me to use a pad as well as the booties since the motion of the panels tends to rub some horses, but since the only way for me to find out if it worked was to do another 50 mile ride and risk making him sore, I went back to my beat-up 12 year old Wintec Pro Endurance, which is the only saddle I've found to fit my little guy's weird back.  Personally I found the Versatil very comfortable and appreciated the deep seat going down the steep hills.  I think it would be great for a different horse, but it didn't work for me.  By the way, I have it for sale (haven't posted it anywhere yet).  I just want to get back what I paid for it.
