Re: [RC] light western saddle - rides2far@xxxxxxxxAn EIGHTEEN inch western saddle? That's HUGE! When you have a particular tree and add an inch on the rider's seat it makes the entire tree longer. I borrowed some trees from the saddle company and the 16 inch seats were way too big for the Arabs in my field. They were big evenfor a large QH. A 14" tree is what I use partly for that reason, along with getting the leg angle right for short legs. My rear could definately use 15". I also recall reading that a man's butt is smaller in proportion to overall size, so whereas the average woman may need 15" a much taller man might use a 14. The lighter the better. Any ideas? Dede =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
