Re: [RC] Selket registration information - heidito anyone purchasing a registered horse, if the registration papers are important to you for any reason PLEASE verify that they exist prior to purchase, if the bloodlines are important, do your own research, or have someone you trust compare your criteria to that horse, ask here if you have to, there are plenty of us that care and will help. There are dishonest breeders, there are also many breeders and individuals who simply don't know or don't understand what they have. Sometimes, these things can be worked out, sometimes not. I would add that an honest breeder will TELL you if the foal is registered or not, or if the registration is applied for. And it is a simple thing to call the Registry and find out if an application is in process. Sometimes they are applied for and paid for, but just haven't had the hair sample sent back to be DNA'd. Sometimes they are applied for but not paid for, in which case it is a simple matter to transfer the application (they have a form for that) and pay it off, if it is a foal you want. But do figure out what is actually happening. Heidi =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
