Re: [RC] Selket registration information - Becky Huffmanto anyone purchasing a registered horse, if the registration papers are important to you for any reason PLEASE verify that they exist prior to purchase, if the bloodlines are important, do your own research, or have someone you trust compare your criteria to that horse, ask here if you have to, there are plenty of us that care and will help. There are dishonest breeders, there are also many breeders and individuals who simply don't know or don't understand what they have. Sometimes, these things can be worked out, sometimes not. I have e-mailed the farm but haven't gotten a response as to if he really is. I was wondering if anyone could find out if indeed he is registered. His name is Selket Da Yankee, his sire is Da Vinci FM and dam is Selket Dixie Chic. I appreciate any information, this would be a huge bummer if he isn't.Hi, Jill-- There is no such registration for "Selket Dixie Chic"--however, there IS a registration for a just plain "Dixie Chic" that was bred by Selket Arabians. However, she was transferred into a different ownership at weaning time. I suspect she is the dam of the colt you are talking about. The sire Da Vinci FM is also registered. However, there is no such foal registered as "Selket Da Yankee" nor does the mare Dixie Chic show any registered offspring at this time. I would suggest that your friend CALL the Registry and ask if there is a pending application for the colt. If there is, she might possibly be able to get them to sign a transfer of elible-but-unregistered foal and pay the balance on the fees herself...
