Re: [RC] NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN WITH YOUR CRUISE - heidiIf you read what they actually said on the Snopes site, the risk is real, though for a different reason. You're right on, Cindy. In fact, I got a first-hand experience with it driving home from Boise in the rain Saturday night, after flying up from Convention. The problem isn't the cruise itself being on--it is the fact that the fuel feed doesn't quit until you touch the brake or flip off the cruise button. If the cruise is NOT on, you get decreasing revs as soon as you lift your foot OFF the accelerator. Fortunately, I was cognizant of the potential problem and hit the "off" button on the cruise really quickly after I started to hydroplane, so did not lose control of my rig. The problem comes when the rig is simply too far out of control to get it back in the time it takes to touch the brake or flip off the cruise. It wouldn't be any different than if you just left your foot on the gas a bit too long.
