Re: [RC] My Mare Heat! - Barbara McCraryActually, the comparison ration is 3 to 1, so a 35-year-old horse would be equivalent to a 105-year-old person.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Diane Trefethen" <tref@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <Ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, March 21, 2005 11:26 AM Subject: Re: [RC] My Mare Heat! Don't breed her. Even if she became pregnant, her body is way past it's prime and she wouldn't be able to do right by the foal. It wouldn't get enough nutrients, it wouldn't turn enough. At each stage of development living things have minimum nutritional requirements. If those minimums are not met, you can't "make it up" by throwing supplements and great feed at them further down the road. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
