[RC] [RC] Difficult rides - Rides of March - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

From what I saw at the ride, what made it "difficult" for some individuals were
several factors: 1) it was a warm day (in comparison to the
winter weather that we had only 1-2 weeks ago; it was maybe the
high 70's? and yet there was snow on the ground in many places,
so the weather just recently got warmer), 2) due to the bad
winter weather, a lot of horses didn't have the opportunity to
get out and do more conditioning before the ride, and because
3)some horses still had their winter coats on (although some had been shaved
for the ride) and it was making them overheat, although
I have to commend the ride management for the amount of water
provided throughout the trail. I think the biggest problem was
lack of training opportunity from the weather, which really came into play at
the big hill. However, this is
just based on my own observations. Would be interesting to hear
from one of the vets on the ride as to their opinion, as they saw
every single horse on the course.
