[RC] Some Thoughts on Pacing (Part 1) - rides2farI said: Kaboot's only two injuries that I can think of>that took him out of competition were both due to sand. >"doable" is relative. For your horses and mine Biltmore is> >like home and sand is an alien situation. Truman said: IThe mare> was> injured twice in her career - both at the Biltmore because of mud. snip< So, I rest my case. It's sometimes hard for a horse who is well conditioned in one type terrain to do their best in another. My field is steep and barren. It's been raining for 2 days. I tried to walk down the trail yesterday taking baby steps and landed on my butt. This morning after eating their grain at the buckets at the top of the hill my horses *galloped* down that incredibly slick hill bucking and skidding, having a good ol' time. They'd probably fall down if they hit a patch of sand. :-) Angie =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
