Re: [RC] tights - preferences- lycra jeans - Lysane CreeI have often ridden (non-competitively, but for long hours and as a trail guide) in stretchy lycra jeans and they are great. I never had any problems with chafing as I would buy the type that is "slim-fit" with straight legs so they were close fitting. Very comfortable. In tights, I like to have the knee patches. I would also like it if they had the knee patch extending down to the ankle. I find that my leg gets sore just below the knee on the inside where the stirrup leather passes. But I still wouldn't go for padded knees or bums. I think the suede/leather would be enough for me. Belt loops on more tights would be really convenient for attaching things even if I don't wear a belt (such as a pocketknife as someone mentioned), as I don't always ride with all my saddle pouches. I do like stirrup feet but ONLY IF the tights are long enough. This usually means that I have to buy the tall sizes and these can be harder to find. I agree that if your tights are just long enough and they have stirrup feet, the tights end up getting pulled downward and this is sooooo annoying and uncomfortable. But then you remember all those moments when you pop up over a hill and are suddenly surrounded by the most stunning views. It's just you and your horse and for a moment time stops and you can hear the angels sing. Therein lies the addiction, at least for me. ~ Leslie Beyers ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================
