Re: [RC] Moon blindness - Lysane CreeI don't know if this can help, as I am just learning about it myself. BUT the horses at the barn that did develop it began having a slight dark blue "reflection" in their eye (both were only affected in one eye). The eye was watery and tearing and the eye lid was swollen. They also seemed to be bothered by bright light - they would blink alot and the eye would become even more watery. I'm not sure if there are any other symptoms that could be present. It seems that time is of the essence - the disease was not picked up as quickly in one horse as the other (different owners) and the one that went longer without treatment now has a real problem with his eye. I'm not sure what will happen at this point with his sight. Lysane -------- From: "Kathie Ford" <MsPoOh17@xxxxxxx> Subject: [RC] moonblindness This is a timely post. I've heard of moonblindness, however I don't know what exactly the symptoms are? I'm curious as I have an older mare that we recently suspect has developed some sort of vision problem. We are going to take her to the vet and have her checked out. But would anybody mind explaining what the symptoms are to me? I'd be greatful! thanks, kathie on behalf of our beloved mare Dolly) ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca ============================================================ REAL endurance is eating egg salad sandwiches for 3 days straight! ~ Heidi Sowards ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================
