Re: [RC] Bell boots - heidiBefore you resort to bell boots check into having your horses hind toes squared next time you shoe. My guy Reno overreached and was constantly hitting his fronts esp. when he got tired. Squaring off the toes solved the problem. Might be worth a try or atleast discuss it with your farrier. Although squaring the hind toes may or may not be the answer, DEFINITELY approach this from a farrier standpoint instead of trying bell boots. The bell boots would be like putting a bandaid on the problem. The real issue here is that the front and hind breakovers and reaches do not match, and that issue has ramifications beyond just hitting the front feet. Better to try to correct the problem than to just cover it up.
