RE: [RC] Helmets - DESERTRYDR1My favorite used to be the Troxel helmets, I have had 3 or 4 of them. When the Tipperary came out, I tried one on and instantly fell in love with the fit. It covers more of the back of the head, and doesn't feel or look so bubbleheaded. HOWEVER, and this is a big issue since I live in the Eastern WA desert, it seems to make my head sweat more, when I take it off, my bangs and other parts of my hair are soaked. I will be working on a solution this year, as I LOVE the fit so much. I have been wearing my Troxel this winter, as I usually ride in a sweatshirt with a hood, and just take out the liner and put the helmet on over the hood. This arrangement seems very secure, and no wind down my neck! I, too, have been saved by a helmet, as the two scars on my neck from cervical disk surgeries show that I have fallen on my head a few times. jeri =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
