Re: [RC] Treeless Saddles - Vicki AustinVictoria, I don't seem to have a problem mounting with my treeless saddle even from the ground but a mounting block, rock, pail, picnic table, all help it not to twist at all. In fact it is better to use some sort of "mounting block" as it helps the horses back. Mounting from the ground twists the horses spine and in fact has been the problem of twisting saddle trees as well. Remember treeless saddles are not for all horses. My husbands horse that CANNOT use one. Gets really big puffy, fluid filled, boo boos on her back. Can't figure out why. My horse on the other hand cannot use a "treed" saddle for any length of time. Hope this helps. Vicki --- "V.Roush" <gypsydancer@xxxxxxx> wrote: I'm shopping for a saddle myself, so... Besides the mounting question (how *do* you mount without the saddle twisting?) I wonder how good the weight distribution is with a treeless saddle. I can understand the flexibility issue, but wouldn't the poor weight distribution cancel out the benefit of extra flexibility? - Victoria __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
