Definitely not the Old Macs. They are a real bother to put on and off,
especially with the new gaiters. The gaiters are a must, in order to prevent
the possible rubbing that can occur if that inner strap is too snug,
but they are too tedious for frequent use. Also, the Old Macs do not
last as long as the Boa Boots.
Have they changed the Old Mac's? I bought some a
couple of years ago for my arthritic old guy. They didn't have gaiters,
just foam pieces that velco in to improve fit. Once you put them in, you
don't have to adjust them except when the hoof grows or you trim the
foot. I found them extremely easy to put on and off, but they seemed to
me to be too clunky to use for riding.
