Re: [RC] Kids, ponies and distance riding... Get a grip people - Karen Sullivan----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara McCrary" <bigcreekranch@xxxxxxxxxx> My point being: are some of you making a mountain out of a molehill for one or two 5-year olds who have done an endurance ride? AERC has already been forced to make a rule because of two people stretching the intent of the sport. Must we make more rules because a couple of 5-year-olds want to ride endurance? Barbara ----- Hi Barbara, one of these big hoo-haws came about because of a 3 year old that was ponied on an LD ride, did a to as a 4 year old...... I personally doubt the 5 year old had enough of an understanding of the sport to have a strong desire to ride endurance; it was the parents that made that decision. When you have a kid starting to rack up miles at age 3 or 4.....what is to stop some other parent from trying to break the recond???? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
