Re: [RC] about vets and feet - rides2farI'd say the students there do study the hooves and their relationship to the legs and the rest of the horse for far more than 9 credit hours. Whoa, 9 CREDIT hours and 9 hrs. are two totally different things! Now that I think about it, if a vet spends "9 credit hours" then that's 3 hrs. a week for a semester = 18 weeks....3x18=54 hrs...so 9 credit hours would be 162 hrs. of class time? That sounds like a lot, but it sounded like Heidi was talking 9 HOURS for the dog & cat vets. Now, 800 hours...how would that break down? Did she sit in a class on hooves for 8 hours a day for 100 days? 4 hours a day for 200 days? Where the heck would you train for 800 hrs. as a "hoof specialist?" I can imagine a vet school having a lot of technology that would give you a few more things to study, where does a hoof care specialist go to school. Are they certified somewhere? I'm just curious now. By the way, I'm a journalist too...but I do humor articles so I don't dig deeper, I just make fun of the surface image. The mental images I get of all this are kinda funny. :-) Angie =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
