Last year (when we actually had SNOW instead of frozen, lumpy, slippery
ground) I would ride through a section of woods, and there would often
be around 20 deer standing there, some very close, just watching us ride
by. It was kind of eerie and surreal, but I really enjoyed it.
During the summer we often have wild turkeys burst out of the woods and run down
the trail in front of us. I think Cheers considers these to be riding
buddies, since he just puts his head down, lengthens his stride, and we all go
down the trail together!
