That is what I thought Ridecamp was about. An open exchange of ideas so that all could benefit, but you have certainly proven otherwise. I am sure that there are others that are offended by your nature. And you are "worried about the newbies?" Who do they really have to fear, you or me? Yes, Ridecamp is a place for an open exchange of ideas. That doesn't mean that everyone's opinion is of equal value, or that all ideas have equal merit. There are some "ideas" that people have, and post, that are not just a difference of opinion, they are just plain factually wrong. When someone posts misinformation that could be damaging, it is important that those who have the experience and/or are experts in the field rebut it. Personally, I find some of your claims about shod hooves to be rather far-fetched. Yes, there are known disadvantages to shoeing, but there are also known disadvantages to all alternatives to metal nailed-on shoes (including barefoot) for horses being ridden long distances. What works best for one horse under one set of circumstances may not be best for another. Now, are you open to listening to rebuttals of your claims, and re-evaluating your opinions based on information you learn here? Or is everyone who doesn't agree with you automatically wrong? -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxx http://www.rnbw.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
