Re: [RC] to Jonni -re archives and barefoot - heidiThe note beside the image says "Note the shod foot has virtually no blood circulation. This is consistant with horses with shoes on." This is exactly the kind of nonsense that is so damaging to horses of the impressionable newcomers who read it and believe it. While the image may be consistent with a horse with minimal circulation, that is NOT consistent with shod hooves in general. To think that shoeing cuts off circulation in the foot is about on par with thinking that the sun comes up because the rooster crowed. Furthermore, anyone so naive as to BELIEVE such drivel is apt to miss whatever the pathology is that is REALLY causing the problem. I pity their horses.
