Re: Re: [RC] Yet another Panacur Purge question - Stephanie E CaldwellI just ordered (for the first time) some fenbendazole suspension liquid (Safe-Guard) for the boys' five-day purge. One of them is really picky about the taste of whatever I'm squirting in his mouth. For those of you who do the purge this way, have your horses reacted negatively to the taste, or does it seem akin to water? Have any of you added anything to the Safe-Guard for taste? I took Dawn's approach to getting Star to take her dewormer. I just about always put it in feed, she'll eat anything that has applesauce on top. >ggg< My vet told me that it's not as effective with food, that it should be done on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning. Any thoughts from the vets on that? When I did the Panacur Purge this past summer Star got a minor impaction and several minor colics from worm die offs, her worming history wasn't that great before I bought her, vet said that was pretty normal for adult horses with poor deworming history.
