Re: [RC] At the end of my rope.. - Barbara McCraryWhen I read this, I immediately had an image of my horse, who very sweetly allows me to mount from a block. I just use our chopping block, the one my husband uses to split kindling for the fireplace and stove. I lead Banner over near it, I step up on it, and Banner neatly walks around it and arranges himself just so. Occasionally he gets a wee bit too close, but I just tap my finger on his shoulder and he moves over a little. Having experienced horses that I had to fuss with in order to get them near enough to the block for me to mount, I am thrilled that Banner obviously understands what I need and does it for me. I love smart horses! I love Clinton Anderson. But, since I'm not 6' tall or 25 years old, I can't DO the things he does. In order to jump onto the horse, I first have to teach it to stand by a mounting block :) > Dolores www.zenhorsemanship.com --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
