[RC] downhill hard on gaited horses(?!) - Ridecamp Guest

  Well,all the folks who have been posting on this ain't blowin' smoke.We 
canter 'em downhill just fine;gait'em or slow walk 'em  maybe on the really 
steep hills.I don't think good hard work is bad for a horse.If you have a 
problem on downhills,I suggest that it probably CAN be really improved,with 
work.In my horse's case,the breakover at the rear hooves was WAY to slow,from 
un-natural ("normal")shoeing. We sped up the rear breakover,and that really 
helped in downhills and all the rest of the time too.
