Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] Ground Control shoes - heidiLOL! I wasn't trying to start the barefoot argument, by any means. I was just curious about the double-duty of using shoes AND easyboots. :) The one thing that Karen didn't bring up in her post is that when you put an Easyboot on over a metal shoe, you have a "potential space" between the sole and the Easyboot. If you foam this area, you get a lot more cushioning than you can get by putting any sort of shock-absorbent material between a pad and the sole, and hence a lot more protection of the sole than with either pads or with Easyboots alone without the shoes. Even without foam, for those who use Easyboots as I do (which is rarely, but for EXTREMELY rocky stretches, and then off at the next vet check), even the "potential space" itself serves as a better barrier to rocks than does a pad or an Easyboot alone without the shoe. This sort of short-term use isn't long enough to be concerned about the sole not contacting the ground and not having foam to provide that contact, but the shoe-plus-Easyboot still beats either one alone.
