[RC] help with bucking horse-please - exxcelco

Are you getting on from a loading block.  Many horses I have ridden over the years do not like the toe in the side when you get in on.  I broke my thoroughbred of bucking when I got on by doing the following:
I first changed saddles and pads, then only mounted from an block where I did not have to put my foot in stirup.  I to this day ride the first 5 min or so without stirups because of this horse.  I swung on gently and immediatly  got my reins up high so he could not get his head down.  I then got off.  walked around a bit and did it agin.  I did this two or three times in the morning then again at noon again at dinner.  It took two days until I was comfortable to ask him to move ahead. 10 years later he is still very sensitive of wrinkles in his saddle pad and where his girth is placed.  About 2x's a year he will tell me things are right and I get down and fix it.  But he  tells me and I hear him.  And that is bliss.
