Re: [RC] western saddles - rides2farYou're all riding Chattanooga saddles. RR is the same as "Big Horn", it's their logo. The guy that owns Crates used to own Big Horn and sold it. Then he started Crates which made more expensive saddles. For awhile Crates was making all the OF western saddles. Then there's "American" which is the bargain basement saddle, made much like the others on the same trees but cheaper materials, not as consistant quality. When you see cheap saddles in sale catalogs chances are they made them. All three are made in Chattanooga. There was a time when if you knew somebody there you could buy them wholesale here but the distributers got mad and they cracked down.
