RE: [RC] Ed- How to trot out.... - Nancy SturmI volunteered to help a friend take down the trail markers on a late summer LD, so we were riding REALLY slowly, bringing up the rear. The vet at the 14 mile vet check thought my horse was off at the trot. I really doubted this sound young horse was sore, but I pulled his splint boots, which could very well have had dirt or brush or gravel in them, wiped his legs off and prepared to move him again. Right then some small children decided. to slide whooping and hollering down a huge pile of road gravel. Tali threw up his head and executed a gorgeous bouncing strong trot out and back. The vet laughed and said, "He's sound". So ... if a stick won't work, find some rowdy children. Please Reply to: Laurie Lreiser@xxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== I think what the Vets want to see first and foremost is a stong forward moving trot out and back...instead of the mincing jog some horses do... I would guess whatever it took (within reason) to obtain that trot would be ok... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
