RE: [RC] [RC] The Sultan's Slave Trade - Howard BramhallThe problem, as I see it, Mr. Corbelletta, is that by allowing them to sponsor anything that we participate in (endurance, thoroughbred racing) says that we don't care what they do over there as long as it doesn't affect us back home in our own backyard. That is incredible hypocrisy and, even the naiive amongst us, should be able to see this needs to be fixed.This is wrong, folks! Just plain wrong. I never thought I was naiive but I must say, after seeing it on TV, filmed only two months ago, knowing that it's still going on and that the laws they write to be read by us foreigners are pure bullshit when compared to reality, one has to take a firm stand here. The only way they will change is if we cut the cord. Completely. And, not even consider to allow them back in until it is verified that this vile practice has ended. We must do better than our own Government here. It is a crime against humanity and the only way to end it is to boycott anything they are a part of until it ends. Take a stand. It doesn't matter who you are, but, by not doing or saying anything against this only perpetuates a grave sin against mankind. Do any of you want to associate with those whom you know are committing felonious acts? We lock up Martha but allow this one to go unchallenged? Give me a break here. Watch the show! The practice of slavery has been going on there for centuries and is condoned both culturally and religiously. Look at what is going on in the Sudan. In that part of the world, life, human or other wise is not valued as we value it. Have any of you heard of "suicide bombers"? The mothers of these fine examples are very proud and happy to give their children up for the "cause". Heck, if they are perfectly willing to blow up innocent people anywhere in the world for whatever the cause may be, what makes you think they are going to give a rat's about have some kid piloting a camel. Just look at the results when the grown ups pilot planes... There are something like 12 to 14 active wars/conflicts going on in the world right now, all of them involve the Muslims not being able or willing to get along with their neighbors or other religions. That should tell you something of the mind set. As far as participating in the UAE events, maybe a very small step in getting them to see things from a western point? When they came to Tevis they must have seen that we got something better going on here, maybe...
