     That is a very good question. 

     The Equipedic Saddle Pads incorporates Holofiber in its pads to help increase the oxygenated blood levels of your horse.  Chicago Loyola Hospital tested Holofiber on vascularly impaired patients with results of 8-12% increased blood flow.  NASA tested holofiber with thermo couplers, found the material beneficial and uses it in the entry and launch uniforms that our astronauts wear.  Texas A&M also tested Holofiber and their tests showed a 10.5 to 29.97% increase in oxygenated blood flow.  Did you know that our military and law enforcement officers bullet proof vests are lined with this material?  Why?  So they can stay cooler.  The material used in Equipedic pads, which incorporates Holofiber, is known as EquiKool.  It stays cooler when its hot and warmer when it's cold. 

     The physiology of human and equine cell structure and circulatory systems are very similar.  Thus the same levels of performance found the Holofiber clinical studies can apply to horses.   

     Also, unlike most other pads, every component of the Equipedic Pad is 100% breathable.  There is nothing in the pad that will hinder or stop moisture transport and evaporation to the atmosphere.  Thus, another reason your horse will stay cooler and drier at all times.

     So the benefits of the Equipedic Saddle Pad are an increased blood flow in your horses back, lowers the body surface temperature of your horse, and helps eliminate saddle fit problems and pressure points that lead to white spots and scaring. 

 

How do you know it decreases the surface temperature?
