Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] horse ivermectin for dogs?OT - EliteThanks, I don't suppose ther is a conversion for the 1.87% paste? Yes.... crank out the screw on the plunger and put a quarter for every 25 lbs. of dog weight. (For a 50 lb dog, put 2 quarters) Then screw the measureing device back in, and pull the quarters out. That measures it for you. I always squirt it out on my finger, not into the dogs mouth, incase it isn't secure and squirts the whole thing. Everyone is right that you should know your dog/breed and the specific intolerances with them. For example... don't use Acepromazine (sp?) on an Airedale, and don't give a Norwich Terrier the vacine for Leptorsporosis. ( I just know the terriers because of being a terrier handler) Something I learned from an old handler a long time ago was to use Bio-Sol (sold at feed stores as a cattle drench) for a dog with "a bug". This could mean anything from one that went out and ate something dead in the pasture or one that picked up a bug at a bench show from people touching several dogs and passing it around. But it is a dog that is either throwing up or has diahrea, and isn't seriously ill. Usually the dogs will pass it from one to the next. Anyway... one capfull for a 50lb dog does the trick, usually over it by morning. I don't use this to avoid vet bills, but because it works better for me than anything the vet has ever given me, and I'm usually on the road when the dogs "pick up" something like this.
