[RC] NC 100 problems/wasTreatment - rides2farAngie wrote:Had this trail been used for a 100 before?Answer: Nope. Before everyone convincts the riders, the formats, etc. I'd give this some more thought. I've seen some really bad completion rates before at rides over new courses and it's usually justified. As often as not it's the first time the course has *ever* been ridden all at once. There's just things that you don't notice you need until a course is tried and true. Mileages are often adjusted, water stops added...things you *need* for a safe ride with a respectable completion rate. Anybody who goes to a new 100 is taking a chance that they are going to be the ones to find out what needs done to make that course doable. Apparently wildfires & last minute changes caused the ride to be moved. It's a shame all around, but the results are predictable.
